Lady Bluebird Volleyball: Cole Camp hosted LaMonte October 2nd for volleyball action, but outside temperatures were conducive to baseball or softball.
First JV set went fairly quick. Taylor Loganbill served 9 in a 10-0 start. Both teams scored 6 midway, then Riley Raetz served 8 that closed out the set 25-6 for Cole camp. Maddie Flores with 4 kills in that last run.
LaMonte led the 2nd set by 3 for the first 1/3 of the set. But Lauren Hesse helped erase that and a whole lot more as she served 14 in a row! That's almost long enough to make a dash to the concession stand. Cole Camp took the 2nd JV set 25-14.
The Varsity Lady Vikings were 9-8 coming into the evening, which is a big improvement over last year for Head Coach Vanessa Green and her team.
Cole Camp with a 3 pt lead when Marilyn Hesse dropped in a pair of aces in a 7-point surge for the home team. Dakota Dieckman a nice set for Mandy Goosen to kill, one of several for Goosen in the opening set. And Olivia Pilant a nice dig to keep a rally going while Leah Allison was serving the last 6. Cole Camp 25-7 in the first set.
Great defensive work in the 2nd set as Allison tracked down a ball headed for the trainers office. She got the ball up far enough so that Hesse could make a long and accurate return over the net. Cole Camp up 11-1. Goosen and Andrea Dieckman with kills as usual, but others joined in the fun as well! Head Coach Abby Massingill worked in several of her reserve players, and Alivia Haase with a pair of kills! Cole Camp 25-12 in the 2nd set.
Cole Camp led the third set 5-1, but don't go to the bank just yet! Due to a few Cole Camp errors and failed returns, the Lady Vikings found themselves leading 11-10 nearing midpoint. Allison helped save the ship with 6 serves moving forward and a 4-point string at the end gave Cole Camp a 25- 16 final for another victory!

Busy bee in the ag department much needed upgrades students installed with Mr.Montemayor. Not pictured bale rings are in full force. Balering count 12 completed so far in 2 weeks.
Lady Bluebird Volleyball: Cole Camp traveled to Sacred Heart September 30th with a nice following supporting the Ladybirds in a tough environment.
Kristin Carl with several kills in the opening JV set as Cole Camp held a slight advantage midway. Riley Raetz with an on the floor face down dig might have been the spark for a 15-3 offensive outburst for Cole Camp. Aspen Meyer served the last 8 of that run for a 25-10 win.

Marilyn Hesse with a tremendous dig and great teamwork was finished by Leah Allison with a kill. Cole Camp squeaked out a 25-23 first set victory!
Sophomore Addison Figge, who averages 15 kills per game, is a real threat at the net for Sacred Heart. Thankfully the net jumped up and grabbed a few of her kill attempts. Hesse and Kate Harrison with great defensive efforts as Cole Camp gradually added to their margin for a 25-19 decision in the 2nd set.
A couple long rallies came to an end as Andrea blocked Sacred Heart kill attempts. Dakota Dieckman with a block and kill also early third set. Still Sacred Heart held at 12-11 lead, with half a set to go. Every once in awhile Ogle will make a short set which means the defense has less time to react. Andrea powered a couple such sets home for winners. With Hesse serving 4 late, Cole Camp put together an 8-1 finish and a 25- 15 victory. Maybe not the sharpest played game for Cole Camp, but a big W still goes in the books!

Not quite as lopsided in the 2nd set though Cole Camp was ahead throughout. Leah Allison was serving as a line judge and kudos to her for being honest! One of the Bluebird C team members was serving and stepped on the inline which is a no no. Allison quickly raised the flag, even though the call likely didn't change the outcome of the game. Good example of doing the job correctly! Adeline Tsipan with a couple scores as Cole Camp won the 2nd set 25 - 15.
JV game vs Tipton featured Kristin Carl with 10 in a row for a 16-4 lead. Final of 25-11 in the 1st set.

Tipton Varsity had a 12-6-2 record coming into Cole Camp and they led 13-10 in the opening set. Madilynn Ogle with a couple aces in her 8 serves as Cole Camp moved back ahead. Mandy Goosen with a big time block of a bomb by Tipton senior Ava Schlotzhauer helped secure a 25-17 first set win.
Tipton up 7-3 in the next set and they still add 19 - 17. Good action by both teams, so who would rise above? With a 6-1 finish the Lady Bluebirds took the set 25-22. Andrea Dieckman with 3 kills and a left-handed tip in that spurt!

Volleyball Games Time Change: Thursday, October 2nd Volleyball Games have been moved to 5:30 PM instead of 5:00 PM. This is for both JH and JV/V Games.
Lady Bluebird Volleyball: Cole Camp Varsity volleyball took part in the Smith-Cotton Invitational on Saturday Sept. 27th. They started play at 8 a.m. and the last set ended at nearly 5 p.m. That is a long tiring day no matter how young or fit you are.
In the 8:00 a.m. game Cole Camp played the host 5A Smith -Cotton varsity volleyball team with a 7-8 record. A strong mid game for the Lady Bluebirds overcame a 3 pt deficit and produced a 3 pt lead. Longest serve streak was 4 by Olivia Pilant. Kate Harrison a big dig and Andrea Dieckman also a nice save and block combo. Cole Camp won the first set 25-21.
Cole Camp led 5-2 in the 2nd set, then Smith-Cotton with a strong mid game surge. Cole Camp looked a bit out of communication with each other as the Lady Tigers built a 22-13 lead. Smith-Cotton won the second set 25- 17 so a tie in the first pool play game.
Second pool play game at 9:55 a.m. was facing the Santa Fe Lady Chiefs with a 5-6 record. Madilynn Ogle served 8 helping build a 13-5 lead. Andrea several kills along the way as Cole Camp won the first set 25-16.
Likely the smallest school present, but Santa Fe has a rich history of strong sports teams. They built a 12-6 lead early, but the Lady Blue birds had tied the game at 22 nearing the finish. Close but no victory as Santa Fe pulled out a 25-23 win for the split.
Third pool play game just past 11:30 a.m. for Cole Camp was opposite the Marshall Lady Owls. Mandy Goosen with several kills helping build a 15-8 lead midway. Cole Camp 25-14 in the first set.
Marshall led most of the 2nd set, leading 19-14 after an ace. However after gaining possession, Leah Allison served 5 for the tie and a Marshall timeout. Didn't stop Allison as she delivered 3 more for a 4 pt lead. Final score was Cole Camp 25-23 over Marshall.

A nice 6-0 run by the Lady Bluebirds helped with an 11-6 margin nearing mid-set. Cole Camp remained slightly ahead until a 6-1 finish sealed a 25-17 win in the opening set.
The Huskers' Claire Frank was a load at the net with multiple kills and blocks. Those help build a 11-5 lead, but Cole Camp didn't shy away! Andrea, Goosen, and Hesse led the Ladybirds back to within one. Lafayette moved up by a 22-17 score, then Cole Camp back to tie at 23. Finally a 26-24 decision for the Lady Huskers.
More great action in the 3rd set as these two powerful teams duked it out for the chance to advance to the title game. Ogle was scampering here, there and yonder to set the ball up for her teammates to swing at. Cole Camp led 10-8, and later 20-19 when it became a battle of the team leaders. Andrea a couple of scores and a block,. Frank with 4 kills for Lafayette. Now into overtime at Cole Camp 25, Huskers 26. Goosen powered home 3 knockout hits to give Cole Camp a 28-26 victory! A great effort!
No time to rest as Cole Camp next faced Osage 11-2-1 in the Championship game at 4:00 p.m.. Osage eased out 6-2 early but the Ladybirds gave it all they had and only trailed by a 15-18 score. Dakota Dieckman a score and Kate Harrison a one-arm save on defense, but the Lady Indians pulled away for a 25-17 first set win.
Osage led the 2nd set 6-2, but again the Lady Bluebirds showed tremendous resolve coming back to lead 13-11. Osage Junior Claire Sallee is a tall girl and when she winds up, the ball is going someplace fast. Regardless Cole Camp went toe to toe down the stretch until the Lady Indians finally escaped with a 28-26 win in the championship game.

Lady Bluebird Volleyball: Cole Camp volleyball teams and fans headed east September 25th for a conference Showdown!
In the C team match, left-handed server Kaylan Poe dealt out a lucky 13 serves in a row. Adilynn Craig with a couple nice hits and a serve that put a Lady Bulldog in retreat mode as Cole Camp won the 1st set 25-9.
Poe with 6 serves early 2nd set and another ace or two. Stover had one 4 pt run midway to draw within 5. With the score Cole Camp 18-11, Poe once again begin serving and she finished with the last 7 for a 25-11 sweep.
According to the Stover Coaching staff, the JV team record is around 500 with 5 of their 6 starters freshmen.
Sophomore Maddie Flores started the game serving for Cole Camp and how many was she there for? 12 in a row, including a handful of aces. Stover narrowed the margin to 7 about 2/3 into the set, then Cole Camp finished it for a 25-15 win.
Taylor Loganbill with 6 in a row early 2nd JV set. As can happen with a young team, Stover struggled with making playable returns. Keeping the serving successes going, Aspen Meyer with 5 down the stretch and Addy Russell the final 4 in a 25- 16 victory.
The Varsity game featured the 9-1 Lady Bluebirds and the 8-4-1 Lady Bulldogs, so the making of a great high school match were in place.

Cole Camp fan Moose Moellman joked he almost needed extra oxygen just watching the players hustle! Andrea Dieckman with a couple kills helped Cole Camp lead 17-9, then 20 - 13 and finally a Bluebird 25-17 win in the 1st set.
Stover freshman Rory Pinzke, a sister to the hard-hitting Pinzke girl that graduated last year, warmed up the nets early 2nd set. But Marilyn Hesse packs a little heat of her own too! Olivia Pilant with an excellent dig and Allison 4 serves for a 16-7 lead. Madilynn Ogle also several nice digs helping the Lady Bluebirds take the 2nd set 25-15.
Being up 2 sets is great, but no time to let up! Cole Camp led 7-3 early, but Stover was close trailing by 2 near midway. Still a slim Cole Camp 20-18 lead nearing the finish line. Then Allison with a kill, putting Goosen up to serve needing 4 points. Andrea with a kill, a Goosen ace, a misguided hit by Stover, and Allison with the winning hit secured a 25-18 victory!

In the C team match, left-handed server Kaylan Poe dealt out a lucky 13 serves in a row. Adilynn Craig with a couple nice hits and a serve that put a Lady Bulldog in retreat mode as Cole Camp won the 1st set 25-9.
Poe with 6 serves early 2nd set and another ace or two. Stover had one 4 pt run midway to draw within 5. With the score Cole Camp 18-11, Poe once again begin serving and she finished with the last 7 for a 25-11 sweep.
According to the Stover Coaching staff, the JV team record is around 500 with 5 of their 6 starters freshmen.
Sophomore Maddie Flores started the game serving for Cole Camp and how many was she there for? 12 in a row, including a handful of aces. Stover narrowed the margin to 7 about 2/3 into the set, then Cole Camp finished it for a 25-15 win.
Taylor Loganbill with 6 in a row early 2nd JV set. As can happen with a young team, Stover struggled with making playable returns. Keeping the serving successes going, Aspen Meyer with 5 down the stretch and Addy Russell the final 4 in a 25- 16 victory.
The Varsity game featured the 9-1 Lady Bluebirds and the 8-4-1 Lady Bulldogs, so the making of a great high school match were in place.
