Today in Mrs. McLaughlin's Human Anatomy class, students looked at actual X-Rays to see if they could determine the bones affected and the cause as to why the X-ray needed to be taken. We will revisit these X-rays in the future when they have gained more knowledge of the skeletal system.

Bluebird Basketball: Due to a winter storm on Dec 1st, the Warsaw Basketball Tournament started on Dec 2nd with 4 boys and 4 girls games.
Girls teams involved were #1 Knob Noster, followed by Warsaw, Butler, Cole Camp, Lincoln, Leeton, Windsor and Weaubleau. Same teams on boys side led by #1 Lincoln, then Windsor, Weaubleau, Knob Noster, Leeton, Warsaw, Cole Camp and Butler.
At 6:00 p.m. in the Middle School gym, Cole Camp and Lincoln girls faced off. Lillyann Mellen with 4 to lead the Lady Bluebirds. Emarie Eckhoff with 5 to help Lincoln lead 8-6 after 1 qtr.
Cole Camp out scored Lincoln 14-3 in the 2nd qtr. Nice diversification as Mellen attacked the basket while Kristen Carl and Lauren Hesse nailed 3's. Cole Camp's defensive pressure contributed to several Lincoln turnovers. Cole Camp ahead 20-11 at the break.
Madilynn Ogle tossed in a pair of fieldgoals in the 3rd. Carl another long range 3 and a very nice left-handed layup in traffic by Leah Allison kept the Lady Bluebirds out in front 31-19.
Mellen continued her relentless play in the 4th. She scored 9, had a steal and assisted Dakota Dieckman with a basket. Rebekah Helland and Remington Keuper paced Lincoln with 3 each. Final score of Cole Camp 44-27.
Scoring: Mellen 18, Carl 9, Allison 4, Ogle 4, Katherine Timoshchuk 3, Lauren Hesse 3, Dieckman 2, Payton Brandt 1. Eckhoff and Helland with 7 each for Lincoln.
FYI. Marilyn Hesse will likely miss playing this basketball season due to recent shoulder surgery. However she was on the bench providing moral support. Let's wish her a full recovery!
Then at 7:30 in the high school gym, Cole Camp boys faced the Windsor Greyhounds. Nice balance by the Bluebirds as Blake Abey had 5, Kolton Phillips 4, and Bovey Clark a downtown 3. However Windsor scored 4 late in the qtr to lead 17- 16 after 1.
Will Espey with a basket to retake the lead early 2nd qtr, then the Hounds were off to the races. They scored 11 straight to lead 28-18 at halftime.
Colton Dieckman with a layup and a 3 off the glass opening the 3rd qtr. But then another 11-point run by Windsor. Great output by Dieckman as he added another fieldgoal and 4 of 4 freethrows in the frame. Windsor up 48-29 after 3.
Cole Camp kept working in the last qtr to trim the lead, however the Greyhounds won it 54-40.
Scoring: Dieckman 15, Abey 7, Phillips 6, Espey 4, Clark 3, Kaiser 2, Davis 2, Burdick 1. Three Greyhounds in double figures led by Ryan Millington with 18.
Phillips 9 rebounds, Dieckman 6. Espey with 4 blocks.
A Cole Camp alumni wearing green? Yep former State 800m winner Laney Williams was helping at the scores table during the girls games. Thank you to Arthur Keuper for writing this article!!
