The final segment of this quarter, the 8th Grade has been engaged in reading Night by Elie Wiesel. This powerful book tells the story of a Holocaust survivor as he shares his traumatic experiences, including the loss of family while facing the darkness of humanity. Wiesel’s testimony highlights the importance of preventing such atrocities from happening again. Their culminating project involved creating a quilt patch that incorporates significant quotes and images related to the text. Additionally, they wrote a reflective piece about the book. Presenting their completed “Quilt” Project!

Grades 9-12 parents!! Our district is allowed to use up to 5 AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) Days for Snow Days. This means that students can complete online assignments during the snow day and we won't have to make it up. If we have to cancel school due to weather, we may announce it as an AMI Day. Any student that completes their online assignment is counted "present" for that school day. Any student who does not complete the assignment is counted "absent" and the attendance policy will apply. We must have 90% or above completed in order to be able to say it was a successful "AMI Day". If the student will not have internet access, the student should tell their seminar teacher this week. Thank you!

Grades 7-8 parents!! Our district is allowed to use up to 5 AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) Days for Snow Days. This means that students can complete a packet of work and turn it back in upon their return and we won't have to make up that snow day. JH students will be bringing home 3 initial AMI packets today. Please put them in a safe place until we need them. If we have to cancel school due to weather, we will announce what AMI Day it is. Cole Camp High School Boys Basketball: This recap of basketball games held on Farrington Court Dec. 17th facing Warsaw. Prior to the JV boys game, the Warsaw Coach stated his team was "struggling". "We make good efforts, but sometimes hard to convert into points." That statement could apply to the Bluebirds season so far as well. Trailing by 5 early, Cole Camp got on the board with a Blake Abey 3. Landon Bauer followed with a high arch 3, may have had a ceiling spider web on it as it ripped through the net! As long as it goes through the basket, Cole Camp will be glad to have it! Micah Davis added 2 baskets and Cole Camp led 10-8 after 1. Will Espey with a basket mid 2nd qtr for the Bluebirds. Brett Burdick with a nice drive from the top of the circle to the basket for a layup. And Espey a basket at the buzzer for a Cole Camp 16-10 lead at halftime. Can we just leave out the 3rd qtr? It was all Warsaw, as in 11 for them and 0 for Cole Camp. Therefore the Wildcats led 21-16 after 3. Abey gave Cole Camp a spark in the last qtr with 2 steals and 6 points. Cole Camp led by 2 with 2 minutes to go, but Warsaw scored at 1:07. Tied at 26 at the end of regulation. Three minutes of overtime and Warsaw made 4 of 6 freethrows while the Cole Camp basket remained empty. Final JV score was Warsaw 30, Cole Camp 26. Scoring: Abey 9, Bauer 5, Espey 4, Davis 4, Loganbill 2, Burdick 2. Roman Reser, a 6'3" soph tallied 17 for the Wildcats. Between games the following senior members of the boys basketball team were recognized. Patrick Allison, Kolby Bohon, Spencer Godwin, Joseph Hatfield, Connor Peterson and Colton Thompson. Best wishes to these young men in their final High School season! Warsaw entered the varsity game with a 4-3 record. Cole Camp still looking for a victory. Low scoring first qtr with baskets by Colton Dieckman, Kolby Bohon and Kolton Phillips for the Bluebirds. Junior Luke Henderson scored 6 of Warsaw's 8, most close range shots. Warsaw led 8-6 after 1. To Blake Abey freethrows for Cole Camp in the 2nd qtr. Coach Shearer used two timeouts trying to devise a plan for better results. Meanwhile Warsaw added 11 for a 19-8 halftime margin. Dasch Kaiser added 4 and Bohon 2 for Cole Camp in the 3rd. Cole Camp missed all 6 freethrow opportunities, and struggled defensively controlling Henderson. In the last 3:20 of the 3rd, he scored 10 while attacking the basket. Warsaw up 35 -14 after 3. Connor Petersen with two fieldgoals in the last qtr. A nice drive to the basket for 2 by Brett Burdick. And through most of the game, Phillips was guarding Gemes, warsaw's leading scorer. Nice defensive effort for the sophmore! Final score Warsaw 45, Cole Camp 22. Scoring: Bohon, Petersen, Dieckman, Kaiser 4 each. Phillips, Abey, Burdick 2 each. Luke Henderson with 20 leading Warsaw. Thank you to Arthur Keuper for this article!!
