Members of Cole Camp’s Future Business Leaders of America attended the State Leadership Conference in Springfield, MO on April 10-12. Those members attending were Daniel Vosmith, John Uzun, Toby Benn, Kian Clark, Mikayla Doll, Colton Banks, James Matiychenco, Mikayla Doogs, and Lacie Canfield (Reid Harrison, Chase VonHolten and Owen Ives also qualified but did not attend).
The theme for this year’s conference was “Success Starts Here” and featured workshops on communication, leadership, networking, and various other business themes. Future Business Leaders of America is a Career and Technical Student Organization for students enrolled in business education courses.
Advisor, Dama Cooper, reports that Missouri State Leadership Conference is the largest FBLA competition in the nation with nearly 5,000 participants. Congratulations for placing in the top five in the state to Daniel Vosmith, Computer Problem Solving and Toby Benn, Business Calculations.

Congratulations to the three 6th grade students (Kyziah Hunt, Adilynn Craig, and Dakota Dieckman) who received a $100 gift card from the Missouri Radon Poster Contest. The contest is through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to create awareness of the dangers of this invisible gas, Radon.
The High School Yearbook Staff (The Tattler) is offering $5 digital access to the high school photos taken this school year by Tattler staff members. Photo access will begin when money is received by Ms. Larson. Many of the digital photo albums will constantly be updated as the school year continues because sports and student life activities are still going on. Mr. Harding is our lucky winner of wearing the clown shoes! Students, staff, and community members donated new and gently used shoes. Mr. Harding had the most shoes donated to his bucket.

Congratulations to Ethan Corpening for making the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) Academic All-State list. In order to be nominated for this achievement one must:
1. be a senior player in good standing with the team
2. possess outstanding moral character
3. have a minimum score of 27 on the ACT
4. have a 3.25 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale

Congratulations to Mrs. Schnakenberg! She applied for, and received, one of four Central Region MSTA Mini-Grants. The money will be used to purchase an aquaponics system (pictured). The current plan is for the freshwater biology class to grow lettuce and simple vegetables using goldfish to start out and plan to go bigger once they get better at it.
