During the month of March Cole Camp R-1, Spanish classes participated in the University of Central Missouri foreign language film festival. Each class had pick a theme, decide the length, category, come up with a title, and write their own narration and dialogue for their film all on their own without any help from their Spanish teacher. Each of the films are judged on their narrative, creativity, acting, pronunciations, fluency, and grammar in their target language. The students compete against other schools offering a foreign language, such as Chinese, French, German, and Spanish. On April 4, 2025, Cole Camp R-1 Spanish classes attended the foreign language film festival where the awards were presented to the winning films. I am thrilled to announce that Cole Camp R-1 Spanish 2 class took first place in the fairy tale theme category. However, some of our other films did not do as well. Please congratulate them all for their challenging and outstanding hard work that they all put into their films.

Since most of the new construction is now complete, students who walk or ride bikes home will once again leave from the cafeteria. The will no longer exit from the main doors under the canopy. At the end of the day, they will be dismissed from the library via radio when its safe for them to exit from the cafeteria.

Since the snow kept us out of school for much of the beginning of second semester, we opted for Students of the Quarter for 3rd QTR! Here's what their nominating teachers said about them: Senior - Kyle Thomas Kyle has been working hard filling out scholarship applications and has been very on top of things. He is taking the initiative to communicate with Mrs. Benitz often. He is always kind and courteous in all of our interactions. Junior - Alivia Haase She has worked independently on projects outside of class time and developed numerous ideas for Bluebird Media. She also volunteers to cover extra work if something needs to be done. She's an exceptionally dependable student. Sophomore - Riley Raetz Riley always gets things done, does not need extra reminders, and is very mature about expectations. Riley tends to want to help others and is very practical, organized, and follows through. Freshmen - Addison Brockman Addison is a truly good student, strong worker, and a kind person. 8th Grade - Jaylyn Dixon Jaylyn is an all around wonderful student. She works hard in the classroom, has a good head on her shoulders, and is easy going. Jaylyn volunteered her time to help work concession stands for the Jr. High Basketball teams, and she is not on the student council. Her willingness to help out and work with anyone to get a task done is one of her best qualities, and she does it with a positive attitude. Jaylyn is a good person, and a model student. 7th Grade - Wesleigh Storey Wesleigh has such a fun personality. Not only is he a fun student to have in class, he is a good citizen. I can always have a fun friendly banter with him about anything, and can count on his honesty in class. Anything he is asked to do, he will do it. His peers look up to him, and he is a hype man both on and off the court to them. I foresee him being a strong positive presence as he progresses in high school, and sports! L to R: Wesleigh Storey, Jaylyn Dixon, Addison Brockman, Riley Raetz, Alivia Haase, Kyle Thomas
